Editor-in-Chief

Responsible for the content on Visitnorway and makes recommendations related to the strategic development of the page. Meeting on an as-needed basis with Project Manager and Chief Editor from Making Waves.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing that the Front Pages and slideshow carousels have the right balance of marketing and editorial content.
  • Make recommendations about content on front page. May be based on feedback from Market Managers and other stakeholders
  • Order new articles
  • Archiving of campaigns
  • Editorial style and tone-of-voice
  • Editorial quality and integrity
  • Approve marketing content
  • Approve high-level content strategy
  • Approve pictures in front page slideshow

Chief Editor/Writer

Responsibility for day-to-day quality, productivity and delivery of all editorial content in the portal. 1-2 Weekly meetings with Project Manager (MW) and weekly meeting with Editor-in-Chief (IN). Continuous dialog with Web Editors (MW).

Responsibilities:

  • Defines (or is a key contributor to) workflow design, operational routines, forward planning
  • Specifies (or is a key contributor to) editorial guidelines governing use of text, images, video, graphics
  • Makes recommendations about content on front page and key sections in .com portal
  • Edits and QAs all text created for .com
  • Works with local web editors to ensure quality levels are maintained on all local language versions of the portal
  • Key contact for IN for strategic projects affecting the development of the portal
  • Helps to define content strategies with IN, and takes the lead role in implementing them
  • Researches and writes articles as agreed in editorial and planning meetings
  • Commissions subject matter experts to write articles
  • Acts as a best practice exemplar of editorial guidelines
  • Makes recommendations about content on front page

Project Manager

Making Waves

Manages IN requests and ensures they are included in daily/weekly project plans. Weekly meetings with Editor-in-Chief (IN) and Chief Editor (MW). Leads weekly editorial and planning meetings with IN, and with local web editors.


Web Editors – International Site

Making Waves
Implement all changes to Front pages based on instructions from Project Manager (MW). Weekly meetings with Chief Editor/Writer (MW).

Publish content, tags articles. Editors for .com are also responsible for giving the editors for the market versions necessary training and support.


Web Editors – Market Versions

Making Waves
Implement all changes to Front pages based on instructions from Project Manager (MW). Weekly meetings with Chief Editor/Writer (MW).

Responsibilities:

  • Translating, localization and updating of local versions of the portal
  • Implementing current content strategy in local versions of portal
  • Act as a general advisor to the local IN office, giving qualified updated advice on current best practices and editorial guidelines
  • Demonstrate using examples how content should be translated
  • Demonstrate using examples how campaigns should be planned, produced and scheduled for publication
  • Responsible for the front page of a local version always being relevant, up to date and following the front page guidelines

Market Managers

The market managers are responsible for ensuring that IN’s strategy for the relevant market is covered.

Responsibilities:

  • The quality of campaign content. Content that does not meet the requirements as detailed in the guidelines will not be published
  • Ordering the campaigns based on the campaign template/check-list, and according to deadlines
  • Communication with campaign partners, (but may give the local editors a mandate to do it on their behalf)

International campaign managers/coordinators

Responsible for the quality of campaign content.

Responsibilities:

  • Ordering campaigns based on the campaign template, and according to deadlines
  • Communication with campaign partners, but may give the local editors mandate to do it on their behalf

Campaign participants/partners/destinations

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering the content agreed on with the campaign owner. Content that does not meet the requirements will not be published
