Types of articles

These are the main types of articles on the Visitnorway tourist websites:

«Top 10»-articles

A “top 10”-list should be an inspiring list of ideally 10 thematically linked items. A top 10 list can also be shrunk to a top 5 or 6 if needed, or expanded to a top 15 (or as much as 25 in rare cases). Lists should ideally be linked to a credible (and preferably well known) subject matter expert. Examples include; journalists, sportspeople, cultural figures, celebrities and high-profile academics.

First-person articles

To vary the content and present special trips first-person articles are an option. First person articles have to be sincere and «real». Write as though you’re telling a friend about your experience and what you remember. To underline the authenticity of the article, add your name as a byline.

Destination presentations

The destination presentations are a vital part of Visitnorway and the content is provided by the destinations themselves. They are also responsible for text QA. A destination presentation usually consists of between 6-10 articles such as where to eat, where to stay, things to see, things to do, key facts and tourist info.

Destination presentations have their own guidelines, found here (in Norwegian).
